Panic button and check-ins
One press records audio and alerts the people you trust.
If you're ever in danger, one press of Record starts recording audio on your phone. It's recorded in small encrypted pieces, and each piece is sent as it goes to your other devices and to your trusted contacts, who are alerted.
- A recording can't be deleted for 24 hours, so someone who grabs your phone can't wipe it straight away.
- Our server keeps the sealed pieces until enough of your devices and trusted contacts have copies. We can't listen to them.
- Check-ins: going somewhere on your own? Start a check-in for anything from 15 minutes to 8 hours, with a note if you like, such as "Walking home from the station". If you don't check in by then, your trusted contacts are alerted.
In an emergency, always call the emergency services first. The panic screen has a button that calls them.
